The Chemical Compound (BFC) is designed to reduce the resistance between soil and earthing electrodes. It is a unique blend of neutral earth minerals, aluminum silicate, and other corrosion-free, highly conductive materials. These properties enable the compound to absorb and retain moisture for long periods, maintaining a low resistance around the electrode.
When installed, the Compound transforms into a gel, retaining up to 13 times its dry volume in moisture. This gel layer forms around the electrode, ensuring an efficient path for fault and leakage current dissipation.
Manufactured according to international standards (IEEE 80-2000), Chemical Compound has been tested and certified by an NABL-accredited laboratory, with a resistivity of less than 0.12 ohm-mtr as per IEEE standards (Clause 14.5d). It is available in 25 kg bags.
Why Earthing & Lightning Protection System?
Earthing ensures a low impedance path for leakage and excessive currents to flow safely into the ground, protecting human life, property, and equipment from electrical hazards. It shields against lightning strikes, power surges, and static electrical charges. Effective earthing also directs fault currents and lightning to the ground safely, maintaining equipment reliability.
